Aztecs Rock Hunger

Help the Aztecs Rock Hunger campaign, led by Associated Students, raise “619 for the 619.” This year's goal is to raise 619,000 pounds of food for the "619" – although San Diegans facing food insecurity in all area codes will benefit. Donations support the Jacobs and Cushman San Diego Food Bank, and a $1 donation is equivalent to providing six pounds of food. Twenty percent of monetary donations go to SDSU's Economic Crisis and Response Team, and the food collected, including fresh produce, helps supply the Associated Students Food Pantry.

International Photo Contest Winners

The International Photo Contest challenged students to submit photographs from their study-abroad experiences that displayed transformation. Judges considered nearly 80 entries to select first-, second- and third-place winners, as well as a pair of honorable mentions. The SDSU community also cast thousands of votes during a bracket-style tournament on the SDSU Be International Instagram page to select the People’s Choice Winner.

Immunization Deadline

New students are reminded that Dec. 2 is the deadline to obtain necessary immunizations and update immunization records through the HealtheConnect website or find holds placed on their class registrations for the fall 2020 semester. The required list includes measles, mumps and rubella; tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis; meningococcal B, meningococcal ACYW and chickenpox, as well as a TB screening. Recommended immunizations for different populations of students include Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, human papillomavirus, flu, pneumococcal and polio.

New Walk-In Nurse Care

Walk-In Nurse Care is now open for students for minor illnesses and injuries. WINC can assist with routine screenings, self-directed STI testing, sore throats, colds, wound care, minor injuries, UTI’s and other medical issues. For more complex care, students are still urged to see a physician. You can call ahead for a WINC appointment to reduce the minimal wait time.

Hours are 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; and 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. Walk-In Nurse Care is located on the first floor of the Calpulli Center, next to the elevators.
