Luna the therapy dog with student

Two More Chances to ‘Lounge with Luna’ This Semester

Come see Luna, one of the therapy dogs from Counseling & Psychological Services, in person at the Pride Center on Thursdays from 1-2 p.m. during “Lounge with Luna!”

She’ll be waiting to meet you on Dec. 2 and 9 – and a quick visit is the perfect antidote to finals stress and jitters.

Luna, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel/poodle mix, came to SDSU just before the pandemic to join Baxter as the university’s second therapy dog. Her arrival to SDSU was made possible by a gift from James Rostello, a teacher from Kansas who retired to San Diego in 2005.

The New ARC Expansion is Open!

After two years of construction, the first phase of the Aztec Recreation Center remodel is now open.

Come visit the new 94,000-square-foot facility, which is filled with fabulous new amenities for students, including an indoor track, five fitness studios, Olympic lifting, climbing and bouldering, a quiet lounge, brand new fitness equipment and much more.

The facility incorporates program and design elements that support student engagement and a holistic, inclusive approach to recreation and wellness, such as wellness programming spaces, gender neutral locker and restroom spaces, a healthy eatery and sustainable design elements.

All this while also providing the recreation and fitness facilities and programming that are in high demand.

SDSU basketball game

Basketball – and the Fans – are Back at Viejas Arena

It’s basketball season for the men’s and women’s programs and, for the first time since the pandemic, you can cheer your Aztecs on in person!

The men’s and women’s programs play a combined seven times at Viejas Arena during the month of December, including the women’s matchup against Big 10 power Ohio State.

The men’s basketball program is expected to be in the hunt for another Mountain West Conference title and is picked by the media and coaches to finish third in the conference.
