3D CAD Multimedia Intern

Description:This is an amazing opportunity for anyone in engineering and design to gain valuable skills with CAD, CAM and BIM software by helping to develop instructional videos alongside our team of applications engineers and other 3D CAD interns. You'll work with and learn a wide variety of software, from CAD tools like SOLIDWORKS and AutoCAD, to media production software like Camtasia and Photoshop.

We’re looking for a detail-oriented 3D CAD multimedia intern to join our team and support us in achieving our video production and exercise refresh goals for CAD software such as SOLIDWORKS and AutoCAD. You should be able to work independently on a task from start to finish, have a strong willingness to learn, strong verbal and written communication skills, and, most importantly, a positive attitude and willingness to work as part of team to complete larger tasks.

Podcast and Research Internship
SDSU School of Public Health Podcast

Wage: Unpaid

Description: The “If I Could Change One Thing” podcast is one of the only podcasts dedicated to health policy. While the target audience is current students, alumni and supporters of the School of Public Health, the podcast seeks to educate the community at large as to how policy is developed and implemented. The podcast launched in March 2020 and produced six episodes in its first season.

To support the podcast, the team created and manages a website as well as several social media accounts. The long-range vision is for the website to provide information about the podcast guests as well as supplemental material, so that listeners may take a deeper dive into the issues raised in the interviews. The intern will be part of a team comprised of interns and student volunteers from the School of Public Health and the School of Communication.

Employer Profile: Our podcast seeks to explore health policy – locally, regionally, nationally and even internationally. There are podcasts for medicine and health and podcasts for policy. But until this podcast, none have been devoted to discussing solely health policy.

The podcast is created at a California public university and will deal with many issues affecting Californians. But the work of the faculty and students spans the globe, it will allow for educating the public about the great impact that the School of Public Health has in communities around the world. Our team hopes to provide clarity to many issues, shed light on decision making and provide timely consideration of key issues affecting not only Californians but any listener.

Description: Scott Peters for Congress is looking for interns that are excited to learn about the workings of a political campaign and are looking to engage with the local political system during the 2020 elections. Interns are needed for finance and communications projects, as well as voter engagement, events, and helping with day-to-day operations.

We are accepting interns on a rolling basis, starting now. Start and end dates are negotiable up to the general election on Nov. 3.

Employer Profile: Congressman Scott Peters was first elected in 2012 as the representative for California's 52nd Congressional District, which includes much of San Diego, as well as Coronado and Poway. Our campaign office is located in the Clairemont area of San Diego.

Research Assistant (Internship) - Chemistry
TP Therapeutics Inc.

Wage: $16/hour

Description: We are looking for a highly motivated, positive, independent individual to join the chemistry group to assist with one or more of the following tasks:

  • General lab maintenance including, but not limited to glass washing, making solutions, waste consolidation, refilling solvents, organization, labeling, etc.
  • Run NMRs offsite, synthesis, purification, and characterization of compounds (HPLC, MS, NMR, etc. ), Data entry and confirmation, perform internal audits on project data, assist with shipments and other paperwork, etc.

The candidate should be enrolled in an undergraduate program majoring in chemistry or related biological sciences, have experience in laboratory settings (through class or work) and be able to lift 30 pounds regularly. Completion of some organic chemistry coursework is preferred. Students currently taking or will be enrolled in organic chemistry courses are also encouraged to apply. Organic chemistry labs are a plus but not necessary.

The part-time candidate should have good organizational skills, attention to detail, time management and excellent communication skills. Basic knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Work, PowerPoint) are also a plus.
