Oct.2013-NutritionWorkshops
Nutrition Workshops
One day, dairy is heralded as a wonder food, and the next you’re told to avoid it with the stealth of a ninja warrior.

Sorting through competing messages about food do’s and don’ts can seem like a full-time job, but it doesn’t have to be.
Free health workshop
A new, free workshop by Student Health Service’s Health Promotion team is designed to help students learn the basics of nutrition while providing tips and tricks for making sure a busy college lifestyle doesn’t interfere with healthy eating.
“One of the best ways to care for your body is to eat right, but with all the myths and lies about food and diets these days, it’s hard to know what really is healthy,” said Shantille Thompson, graduate student assistant in the Health Promotion Department. “That’s why it’s so important for students to learn the fundamentals.”
When and where
Students are not required to register for the 1-hour nutrition workshop, which is presented Thursdays at 2 pm in Calpulli Health Center, room 3225.
