Aztec Student Union October Update
The student union raises its profile with a new website and steel erection.

It’s hard to miss Aztec Student Union these days. The building is increasingly visible thanks to the steel beams erected since Aug. 31.
Despite the heat, project crews are steadily revealing the building’s largesse, from its sheer height to its larger footprint as compared to Aztec Center. Ironworkers will continue to place, secure and weld beams, in addition to cutting and fitting the floor decks, during the next few weeks.
To watch the steel erection process remotely, visit the new Aztec Student Union website.

About Aztec Student Union
Construction on the Aztec Student Union broke ground in June 2011. Funded by a student fee referendum approved in March 2010, the Aztec Student Union will serve as a campus “living room” for SDSU students, faculty, staff and visitors to study, socialize, dine and relax.
As part of the project, Associated Students and the university will pursue LEED Platinum certification with the U.S. Green Building Council — a distinction that would make the building the first LEED Platinum-certified student union in the California State University system. Learn more.
