Science Tutor
SDSU Student Ability Success Center - TRIO Project
Wage: $14/hour

Description: The TRiO Science Tutor will provide tutoring support across the science curriculum to a diverse population of students with disabilities. This position also works collaboratively with project staff to further the goals of the TRiO Project. Responsibilities will include: Under direct supervision, tutor students in introductory and intermediate courses in biology and chemistry; write detailed case notes on each student conference and submit them in a timely manner; develop relevant handouts and flyers for project participants; assist in maintaining a clean, welcoming learning center; attend informal staff meetings; contribute to team effort to continually improve level of service to students; provide front desk/reception area coverage.
Qualifications: Current graduate or undergraduate student with grades of at least “B” in subjects tutored, preferably “A.”
- Some background in teaching/tutoring at the college level.
- Experience working with diverse student populations.
- Specific interest in working with students with disabilities, including cognitive, physical, and psychological disabilities.
- Ability to listen effectively, exercise patience in assessing learning needs, and maintain professional demeanor.
- Creative thinker/problem solver who can be flexible in adapting to different learning needs.
Employer Profile: The Student Ability Success Center’s (SASC), TRIO Student Support Services Project provides advising, tutoring, workshops on various academic topics, and peer mentoring to undergraduate students with disabilities who are registered with SASC.
Real Estate Intern/Unpaid Internship

Description: KMA has an immediate opportunity for an Intern in our downtown San Diego office to assist the Managing Principal and other professional staff in completing urban economics, affordable housing, and other feasibility studies and analyses. The Intern will work on multiple ongoing client assignments, including tasks such as:
- Field research in support of market demand studies
- Library and online data research into demographic data
- Telephone surveys of developers, brokers, and property owners
- Financial feasibility analysis including project pro forma analysis
- Feasibility analysis of affordable housing projects
- Economic and planning research related to fiscal impact and economic development studies
Qualifications:
The preferred candidate will have undertaken college and/or graduate studies in economics, real estate, finance, urban planning, or a related field. Candidates must have advanced Microsoft Excel modeling skills; strong analytical, communication, and writing abilities; and proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.

Student Assistant - College of Arts and Letters Office of the Assistant Dean

Description: The College of Arts and Letters Office of the Assistant Dean is looking to hire one student assistant to provide front desk reception coverage during the working hours of 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. Students who are available to work between hours 12:00pm - 2:00pm are preferred. Please include a resume and your class schedule in your application.
General duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Greeting incoming students/visitors and directing them to the appropriate contact.
- Answering the main telephone line, directing calls, and taking detailed messages for the Assistant Dean's office staff.
- Relieving the front office staff during lunch hours.
- Managing supplies and inventory.
- Sorting and distributing incoming mail.
- Assisting with bulk mailings, college-wide distributions, etc.
- Assisting with assigned projects and/or events.
- Maintaining the office sanitized per the COVID-19 safety protocols.
Qualifications: Students must be eligible for Federal Work Study. Students are not to exceed a maximum of 20 work hours per week during the semester, but may be eligible to work 40 hours per week during the summer and winter breaks. All majors are welcome to apply.

Primary Functions
- Promoting The Daily Aztec and KCR as opportunities for industries to target their key demographic of college students
- Cultivate new business opportunities with businesses that students should know

- Maintain organized and documented communication with clients
