Going into finals season, the last thing you need is to be down for the count with the flu. How about a flu shot to up your chances of staying healthy? Seasonal flu vaccinations are available to currently enrolled SDSU students, faculty and staff for $15 at Student Health Services in Calpulli Center. Vaccinations are given Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, from 8:45 - 11:45 am and 1:30 - 4:30 pm. An appointment is required to receive a vaccination. Did you know nearly 470,000 San Diegans have little to no food at home and don’t know how they’ll get their next meal? For many of those families, that next meal will come courtesy of the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank. Support this incredible organization by contributing to Aztecs Rock Hunger by November 9 and help SDSU reach its goal of collecting 250,000 pounds of food. Need some perspective? Just $1 will help the food bank supply six pounds of food for a family in need.
International Peace Village Brings World Cultures Together
On Thursday, Nov. 20 from 10am to 1pm, world cultures will come together in celebration at Montezuma Hall, and you are invited! ONE SDSU Community, the International Student Center and the International Student Association present the 58th Annual International Peace Village, part of International Education Week 2014. With performances, country showcases and music, SDSU will come together to celebrate international on campus. Discussing Race in the U.S.
Lee Mun Wah, an internationally renowned Chinese American documentary filmmaker, author, poet, Asian folkteller, and educator, will talk about his documentaries and his life experiences on Nov. 12 at 5:30 in the Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union Theatre. Creator of the documentaries, "The Color of Fear" and "If These Halls Could Talk", he will speak and lead discussion on cross-cultural communication and awareness. Artistic Endeavors Abound
Searching for artistic inspiration on campus? Perhaps adding a little opera to your life will be your creative spark. The SDSU Lyric Opera Theatre will be presenting Amelia Goes to the Ball November 14-16, in Smith Recital Hall. Tickets to this opera, composed by Gian Carlo Menotti, are only $15 for SDSU students and $20 for general admission seats.
