Lab Assistant SDSU Language Acquisition Research Center (LARC)

Employer Profile: The LARC Language labs are part of a national center to promote foreign language learning. LARC is both a national language resource center to promote the learning of foreign languages, and the language labs for the over 5,000 foreign language students at SDSU.
Description: We are looking for student assistants to help in the LARC language labs for up to 20 hours per week starting in the Fall 2013 term.
The assistants help students in computer use, including language learning software and recording software. The assistant also supports many ongoing projects. Our student workers have helped in copying CDs and DVDs, maintaining our Web and Moodle sites, putting up online surveys, graphing attendance records, working on layouts for our newsletters, and supporting faculty in their use of technology in the labs. We are also constantly updating, expanding and improving our instruction sheets. The student workers are also responsible for maintaining the appearance of the labs, cleaning workstations regularly and updating the window displays. If you are interested in the field of language learning, this might be the right position for you. Laboratories are places where learning is continuous. We are looking for people who will take initiative.

Viacom's Internships are paid at a standard competitive hourly rate, so proper work authorization is needed for employment within the United States.
Interns must be available for a minimum of 10 weeks.
Interns must be available to work a minimum of two full days per week (no weekends), but some departments may require more than two days. Typical business hours are 9:30 am to 5:30 pm.
Internships are open to college juniors and seniors, though some departments also accept graduate students and law school students. Upon acceptance, we will require a letter from your school confirming you are a matriculated junior, senior, graduate student or law student.
