Improve your mood by celebrating Thanksgiving Week with Associated Students. Each day, share what you are grateful for and tune in to A.S. socials to hear from fellow students giving thanks. Participate by tagging the @aztecunion on Instagram.
Also plan to join Aztec Recreation in a virtual run/walk or bike fitness challenge from Nov. 23 - Dec. 5. Engage with other students on a variety of mobile apps to share your walking, running and cycling adventures. Submit your experiences through photos, post gratitude thoughts and join the community.
‘The Office’ Trivia Night
Think you know every cringey Michael Scott moment or Dunder Mifflin secret? Put yourself to the test at Associated Students’ “The Office” Trivia Night. Special performance by professional comedian Leslie David Baker (Stanley Hudson). The free virtual event takes place from 6-7 p.m. on Nov. 10.
The second annual RE:BORDER conference on Nov. 12-13 will focus on challenges and solutions related to mobility in the transborder region of California and Baja California.
Students are invited to the free virtual conference, which will feature academic experts, practitioners, students, public policy experts and community stakeholders exploring how SDSU and its regional partners can contribute to innovative solutions in the transborder region. The conference includes expert presentations, conversations, poster sessions and artistic experiences.
To cap off the 50th anniversary year for Love Library, library staff created a list of “50 Books SDSU Loves.” Nominations were gathered from students, faculty and staff, and then the librarians narrowed the list to 50.
The list reflects diversity of the SDSU community. The top book, “Kindred” by Octavia Butler, was written by a Black woman and, as Amazon summarizes, “The visionary author’s masterpiece pulls us – along with her Black female hero – through time to face the horrors of slavery and explore the impacts of racism, sexism, and white supremacy then and now.”
The list also includes timeless classics, such as “To Kill a Mockingbird” and “The Great Gatsby,” and light-hearted options, such as “The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.” Nonfiction works include “Becoming” by Michelle Obama.
