SDSU Commencement Includes In-Person Option at Petco Park
Congratulations 2020 and 2021 grads! Commencement is back with in-person ceremonies at Petco Park on May 25-27 for the San Diego campus — with a livestream. Graduates must be registered to attend. The campus also will have a virtual Commencement option.
The SDSU Imperial Valley Campus will have a drive-through “CARmencement” at the Calexico campus. The class of 2021 will have its ceremony on May 17, and the class of 2020 will have its ceremony on May 18.
SDSU is planning for instruction and activities to be primarily held in-person this fall, with a majority of faculty and staff returning to campus along with students.
The campus announcement came after Gov. Gavin Newsom announced the state’s plan to fully reopen on June 15 if vaccine supply remains sufficient for Californians 16 years and older and if hospitalization rates are stable and low.
Mask-wearing will still be required in the fall.
Publication of the fall 2021 course schedule will move to May 10 from April 12 and fall registration will open on May 25, rather than April 19, in order to accommodate the change.
