SDSU Hosts NCAA Tournament Games

Aztec pride is heightened during the spring semester with adrenaline pumping buzzer beaters and jam packed games at Viejas Arena, but there’s nothing like March Madness to take basketball mania to new heights on campus.
For the third time in university history, San Diego State University and Viejas Arena are hosting games for the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship Tournament. Classes will be canceled on Friday, March 21 while SDSU hosts four matchups in the tournament’s second round. Teams will then go head to head during two third-round games on Sunday, March 23.
March Madness officially begins on March 16 with Selection Sunday, when the tournament bracket is revealed, and will come to an end with the national championship game on April 8. If SDSU earns a spot in the tournament, the Aztecs will not play at Viejas Arena, but students will still have a chance to watch other teams compete here on campus.
