Human Resources Student Assistant
(Federal Work Study Required)

Description:

  • Provide customer service to visitors of the Center for Human Resources. This includes SDSU faculty, staff, students, new hires, volunteers, and prospective employees.
  • Support HR staff from various units with special projects.
  • Assist with incoming inquiries; respond or refer inquiries as appropriate.
  • Scan and index various documents into the content management system.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Community Service Officer

Community Service Officers are a high-functioning team that serves our students, faculty, staff and surrounding community in providing safety services, transportation services and community service all while developing actionable life experience that will build your resume upon graduation. We serve our community at the San Diego Pride Parade, the Martin Luther King Jr. Parade, Shop with a Cop, the Mother Goose Parade and the Coronado Christmas Parade.

The University Police Department facilitates the academic process by providing a safe and secure environment in which to pursue academic excellence. CSOs are SDSU students in good academic standing who work for the police department as civilian employees. CSOs assist the campus community and provide an extra set of "eyes and ears" for the police department. By fulfilling these duties we believe that we have established one of the most successful and professional student assistant programs in the country.

Position:

  • Conduct regular inspections of all university property, particularly parking areas, grounds and buildings 
  • Enforce parking and permit regulations
  • Lock/unlock university buildings/facilities 
  • Observe and report suspicious activity, hazardous conditions and/or criminal violations 
  • Provide security services for campus organizations and/or functions 
  • Give directions and other types of aid to the campus community 
  • Staff the Parking Information kiosk 
  • Staff the University Police Department’s substation 
  • Perform enforcement, administrative, security and/or investigative functions as directed 
  • Bike patrol

Position:

The asset management team is responsible for overseeing various aspects of the renewable generation facilities during operation, including contractual compliance and administration, operational review and analysis, reporting, and general administration. Marketing and Communications Assistant

Coordinate in-person and virtual events, including video/film organization, messaging, promotion and social media. Assist with community management on social media channels and groups. Assist with organizing and optimizing the SDSU YouTube video playlist including titling, descriptions, linking and tagging. Support market research, environmental scans and competitive profiling. Position:

Provide digital advertising campaign support, including content creation (photo and videos), reporting and asset organization. Draft copy and identify visuals for various marketing materials, including website, social media, advertising and promotions. Software Engineering and R&D

ObjectSecurity is a small company in downtown San Diego (we work out of a co-working space). We have traditionally focused on cybersecurity but have branched out into data analytics and AI in recent years. Our award-winning, patented security product is OpenPMF, which uses cool models and algorithms to make it easier to author and maintain fine-grained, dynamic access control policies.

Position:

We are looking for hands-on interns around AI, graph analytics and general software engineering. We can also involve someone with cybersecurity skills but only if they are also hands-on developers. By working directly on software engineering projects hands-on in embedded systems, hardware and/or microelectronics, interns will gain valuable experience in the software engineering field and improve upon their computer science skills as evidenced through their weekly projects.

This is a 1099 position. Persons paid on a 1099 basis are independent contractors and are self-employed. Independent contractors are required to pay all self-employment taxes (Social Security and Medicare) as well as income tax.
