@State Jan.-Feb. 2014 - Aztec Mentor Program

Registration Opens for Aztec Mentor Program

Aztec Mentor Program

The first week back to school is all about the art of the search. Between parking spaces, classrooms and textbook deals, you’ll spend a good part of these first weeks searching for and piecing together the elements of a successful semester. But don’t stop there! Adding one more search to your back-to-school checklist may make the difference between getting by and getting ahead this spring.

Whether you’re on your way to a career in television production, finance or psychology, having a mentor in your chosen field is a smart move. Until recently, however, finding the right one hasn’t always been easy. The Aztec Mentor Program, or AMP, makes the search for a career mentor easier than ever. The program is returning for its second semester and accepting participants for the spring.

Upon registration, juniors, seniors and graduate students can browse through more than 400 potential mentors in the Career Services ProNet database and find a match for a semester of valuable career coaching, job shadowing and networking opportunities.

AMP registration for the spring closes February 14. An official kick-off celebration for both mentors and mentees will be held at the Parma Payne Goodall Alumni Center on February 28. Visit the AMP website for more information on participating and helpful links on everything from dressing professionally to writing a standout resume.
