Karyna Yoong kickboxing

Malaysian international student Karyna Yoong started kickboxing as a hobby and a way to stay fit, but it soon turned into something more serious

Yoong fought in the 2014 World Kickboxing Championship in China.

2017 Trustee Emeritus Ali C. Razi Scholar

Fallbrook, Calif.-native Alejandro Arias, a food and nutrition major, was named the 2017 Trustee Emeritus Ali C. Razi Scholar, an award that includes $12,000 in funding. Arias supports students through SDSU’s SOAR Mentor Program.

SDSU celebrated its global diversity at the 61st International Peace Village on Nov. 16 at Montezuma Hall. Students shared their international cultures through song, dance and displays.
