Aug-Sept 2012 - Greek Recruitment

Greeks Giving Back to the Community

Service to the community is a cornerstone of the fraternity/ sorority life experience.

Are you ready to "Go Greek"?

Members of the SDSU Greek community have given back to the San Diego community in many ways this past academic year. Projects they have worked on have included reading to a group of elementary school kids to volunteering to repaint a school’s playground and projects that affect a whole city or entire state.

It doesn’t matter how big or small the project-SDSU Greeks are committed to the San Diego area community. During the 2011-2012 year, members of the Greek community volunteered over 20,000 hours and raised over $26,000 to various local charities!

August's Screen on the Green is a fun and worthwhile event everyone can participate in, that's co-hosted by Aztec Nights and the Greek Councils. Moviegoers will watch "Men in Black III" and can support our local military by writing notes and letters to the troops (materials provided).

Being in a fraternity or sorority can teach members what it means to give back to their community.

Being a part of a fraternity or sorority is not just a social thing, it’s not only a group of friends; it’s a family of brothers and sisters who want to make a difference in the world around us.
