Featured Scholarship – John M. & Theodora Yarborough Memorial Scholarship

John M. & Theodora Yarborough Memorial Scholarship
- Award: At least one scholarship of $1,000
- Open to all majors
- No minimum cumulative GPA
- May 13, 2016 application deadline
Scholarship details
To qualify, applicants must:
- Be an enrolled full-time undergraduate or graduate student
- Must be residing in the residence halls at the time of application
- Demonstrate financial need, as determined by Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships
- Have filed a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the California Dream Act Application by April 1
- Submit a letter of recommendation from a current Resident Advisor (RA)
- Submit an unofficial transcript
- Submit a 500-word essay that addresses the following topics:
- Describe how you have been an on-campus resident student who epitomizes the "best of residents," and who has demonstrated initiative and enthusiasm.
- Please explain your genuine financial need for the coming academic year. Describe other sources of income including grants, loans, scholarships, and employment.
- Describe your immediate and future educational goals.
- Show how you have accomplished a high level of academic achievement as a San Diego State University resident.
