SDSU University Grants Program

The SDSU University Grants Program (UGP) is funded through the CSU Chancellor's Office, the SDSU Provost’s Office, the SDSU Research Foundation and the Adams Humanities Endowment.

The funding sources are:

·         Research, Scholarly, and Creative Activity (RSCA);

·         Faculty Development Program (FDP);

·         Faculty Grant-In-Aid Program; and

·         Adams Humanities Endowment Fund.

The purpose of the UGP is to support scholarly research; assist faculty at lower ranks meet qualifications for retention, tenure, and promotion; permit faculty to bring advanced projects to conclusion; and facilitate development of a research program that may be competitive for extramural funding.

All SDSU, CSU Collective Bargaining Agreement Unit 3 Faculty are eligible to apply including those participating in the Faculty Early Retirement Program (FERP), Lecturers and Librarians.

The call for proposals is sent by email in the month of August, yearly. 

Awards are limited to $10,000.

Award period is 18 months, January through June of the following year.

Award notifications are made yearly by mid-December.


Online Application System! (This program works best in Google Chrome)

Electronic UGP application submission software called InfoReady is used for the process.

Applications are submitted electronically by the applicant via the software to the Division of Research Affairs who will process the applications then forward to each of the respective colleges for review, ranking and rating.  

Once the colleges have reviewed, ranked and rated the applications they are then forwarded to Division of Research Affairs who prepares all applications for University Grants and Lectureships Committee for final ranking and award determination.

To create an account in the InfoReady system click the link below and use the Register button in the top right hand corner of the page.  After receiving confirmation that your account has been created via email, log in to InfoReady and choose University Grants Program from the table, and then Apply on the right hand legend.
