Transition Specialist Certificate Program

The Transition Specialist Certificate Program (TSCP) is a collaborative effort between the Departments of Special Education and Administration, Rehabilitation and Postsecondary Education at SDSU funded by the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs. The goal of this project is to prepare 45 highly qualified secondary special education teachers to meet the requirements for a California Clear Education Specialist Credential (ESC) in either Mild-Moderate Disabilities or Moderate-Severe disabilities and a Transition Specialization Certificate by the SDSU Division of Graduate Affairs. Scholars will be recruited from a culturally and linguistically diverse population of students who completed their Bachelor’s degree at SDSU. Successful completion of the program will lead to a Supported Employment and Transition Specialist Certificate issued by the SDSU Division of Graduate Affairs. Upon completion of this program, project scholars will work in high-need LEAs and/or high poverty schools throughout San Diego and Imperial Counties.
