A Summit Focused on Leadership

Event Date: Saturday, February 21, 2015

Location: Aztec Student Union, San Diego State University

The 2015 Leadership Summit Planning Committee invites you to submit a proposal for presentation at San Diego State University on Saturday, February 21, 2015. Under the theme of “Leadership Starts Here,” presenters are encouraged to submit proposals that will foster relational leadership, promote values based leadership, and address topics of current interest.

The purpose of this leadership conference is to provide SDSU students, and students from local colleges, the opportunity to develop and empower themselves as leaders – both on campus and beyond.  The Leadership Summit aims to help students build relationships and connections to the campus community. Connecting student leaders to staff, faculty, alumni, and community members provides a valuable leadership and learning experience.

We are seeking proposals that revolve around the question, “How do we get students to initiate, communicate, inspire and/or transform?” Please use the words “initiate,” “communicate,” “inspire” and/or “transform” as a means to process your ideas rather than a formal guide or requirement.

Workshops examples/ideas may include:

  • Initiate – Delegation, Parliamentary Procedure, Public Speaking, Team Work, Networking, Common Goals/Vision, Building Trust, How Effective are Traditional Methods Being Used, Effective Partnership/s, Decision Making

  • Communicate – Conflict Resolution, Respecting Other’s Opinions, Encouraging Other’s to Speak Up, Communicating Respectfully and Professionally, Appreciation for Difference in Perspectives, Social Media Responsibility/Consequences, Being Inclusive, Networking, Etiquette
