    Final Official Transcripts—Due June 30, 2018

You must provide a separate final official transcript showing spring 2018 term grades by June 30, 2018. This final transcript is in addition to the preliminary transcript(s) that must be sent by May 1, 2018.

Your admission eligibility was determined using the information you reported on your application for admission and the SDSU Supplemental Application. All courses you listed as "in progress" or "planned" must be completed with grades of C- or higher. You must also maintain your reported overall grade point average. Your transcripts will be used to verify your self-reported information. If your grade point average and/or current course grades drop, or if there is a discrepancy in what you reported on your application compared to your transcripts, this offer of admission may be withdrawn.

    Transcript and Test Score Instructions

    Official College Transcripts

Official transcripts are required from all colleges you previously and/or currently attend even if you withdrew from the course(s) or the course(s) is not applicable to your degree. Please also include transcripts for all International Baccalaureate credit and Advanced Placement exam credit (if applicable). You must send official transcripts (including fall 2017 grades) for all schools by May 1, 2018. Do not wait for spring 2018 grades to be posted—you will send final transcripts later.

You must request that official transcripts, bearing the high school or college letterhead, be sent directly to the SDSU Office of Admissions either electronically or in a sealed envelope. For a transcript to be considered official, it must remain in its original sealed envelope. If opened, the transcript will no longer be valid. Please request your transcripts as soon as grades are posted so that the transcripts will arrive by the deadlines. (Note that it can take several weeks for a school to send a transcript once it is ordered.)

    Electronic Transcripts
SDSU will accept only electronic transcripts from the schools listed here. Please ensure that you indicate this preference when making your request.

For schools not on SDSU's electronic transcript list, have official transcripts mailed to:

    Writing Placement Assessment

All undergraduate students must demonstrate competency in writing skills at the upper division level as a requirement for the baccalaureate degree within the California State University (CSU) system (known as the Graduation Writing Assessment Requirement – GWAR). At SDSU, the Writing Placement Assessment (WPA) is used to assess that competency. The test score from the WPA may clear the requirement or place students in the appropriate writing course(s) to fulfill the requirement.

Transfer students admitted for fall 2018 who do not take the WPA by the last test date in the fall 2018 semester (usually mid-October) will not be able to register for spring 2019. You cannot enroll in a writing class to take the place of the WPA. You are required to take the WPA. You are strongly encouraged to take the WPA as soon as possible to avoid any conflicts with the last testing opportunity of the semester. You are allowed to take the WPA twice between the time you are admitted to SDSU and the last test date in October 2018.

Select majors require transfer students to enroll in a writing course during their first semester at SDSU, therefore you are strongly encouraged to take the WPA as soon as you have received an offer of admission and prior to New Student Orientation that takes place in August.

For more information and to register for the exam, please visit Testing Services or call (619) 594-5216.
