    Program Costs

    Please choose your date carefully! There will be NO REFUNDS for CANCELLATIONS, NO-SHOWS, or for students whose admission to the university is rescinded. There will be a $20.00 change-of-program fee if you change your date. Not all date change accommodations can be met, so please plan ahead.

    NOTE: The reservation system will close for freshmen on July 1 and no additional reservations will be accepted.

    The one-time new student program fee includes: New Student Orientation; academic advising; course selection; major requirements; General Education information; the SDSU 2017-2018 General Catalog; an advising packet, including personalized academic information; New Student Handbook; lunch; and parking at Orientation. The fee also covers New Student and Family Convocation, and Welcome Week activities for students.

    The Parent Orientation fee includes: Parent Orientation; membership in the Aztec Parents Association for the entire time your student is enrolled at SDSU; a Parent Handbook; a wide array of resource information provided by faculty, staff, administrators and student leaders; college and major requirements and university policies; a special orientation edition of News for Aztec Parents; and lunch at Orientation. The fee also covers New Student and Family Convocation.

    *NOTE: All registered guests are required to attend the Parent Orientation. Guests under 15 years of age are not encouraged to attend.

    New Student Program Fee postponement

    Students from low income families may be able to postpone payment of the student’s New Student Program fee until financial aid is available in the fall. To be considered for a postponement of the New Student Program Fee, students must have filed a 2017-18 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and submitted all requested documentation to the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships by April 1.

    If eligible, the student’s New Student Program fee will be deducted from his or her financial aid award when funds are disbursed at the start of the fall semester. Students who qualify will be notified via e-mail prior to May 11, 2017.

    Payment options

    CREDIT CARD: As part of the online reservation process, payment for Orientation may be made by credit card. MasterCard, VISA, American Express, and Discover are accepted.

    ELECTRONIC CHECK: As part of the online reservation process, payment for Orientation may be made by electronic check.

    CHECK: You must PRINT OUT your confirmation page and mail a copy of it with your check. All mail-in payments must be received within 10 days after you have registered for an orientation date, or your orientation reservation may be canceled. The returned check fee is $35.
