Since January 2014, SDSU has been a smoke-free campus. The policy helps the entire university community to breathe easier.
A smoke-free campus encourages tobacco users to quit or decrease use – and supports those who have already quit using tobacco.
Smoke-free campus policies also protect the health and safety of nonsmokers by eliminating secondhand smoke on campus.
- Did you know? Exposure to secondhand smoke is the third leading cause of preventable death in this country, killing over 50,000 non-smokers each year.
Ready to quit smoking?
SDSU Health Promotion supports smoking cessation! There’s help on campus to help you reach your goal of becoming a non-smoker!
- Individual counseling sessions are approximately 30 minutes and focus on behavior modification techniques. Sessions are personalized to each student’s needs. For more information, contact Counseling & Psychological Services.
