Summer Aid

To be considered for any summer financial aid, you must:

  • file a FAFSA for the 2019-20 year and have been awarded
  • be a continuing student from the 2018-19 academic year, or a new student who will enroll at SDSU for the fall 2019 semester
  • be making Satisfactory Academic Progress, as defined by the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships, as a result of your cumulative units and grades during the summer 2018, fall 2018, and spring 2019 semesters

Limited funding

Financial aid to attend summer classes is limited and may include estimated student loan(s).  To help you pay the total cost, you may need to borrow a student loan.

Extended studies / study abroad

Contact a financial aid counselor NOW if you plan to enroll only through the College of Extended Studies or if you plan to study abroad.

Summer information

To find out if you may be eligible for summer financial aid (which includes student loans), you will receive an e-mail directing you to AidLink.


  • Mid-February:  Summer tuition and fee postponements are made available, if you are eligible
  • Late May-June: After you enroll, you will be notified if you will receive summer aid
  • Mid-July: If eligible, summer aid disbursements begin
  • Mid-August: All summer aid must be disbursed by last day of summer classes
