Daily Aztec Centennial

The Daily Aztec logoSince 1913, San Diego State University's student newspaper has covered every on-campus landmark event while documenting the university’s news and history. Today, the Daily Aztec today consists of more than 100 staff members and is completely student-run.

The celebration of the Daily Aztec's centennial marks much more than 10 decades of reporting on the university. It also celebrates the rich history of SDSU.

Centennial celebrations will culminate in a gala event on May 13 at the Parma Payne Goodall Alumni Center.  Learn more!

Associated Students (AS) Vice President of Finance Eric Anderberg has been proactive during his senior year in lining up a great career upon graduation.  Thanks to his involvement with both the College of Business and with SDSU’s Career Services, he’s off to a great start before the ink on his diploma is dry.

Eric, who graduates this month with a degree in Finance, said working with staff on campus was key in landing his new position with Federated Insurance. He begins a 9-month training program on June 17 in Minnesota.

Aztec Student Union Year in Review

In fall 2013, Aztec Student Union will open its doors to the San Diego State University community as the new “campus living room.”

As a hub for studying, socializing, connecting, relaxing, eating and learning, students, faculty, staff and alumni will enjoy many amenities in what is planned to be a the state-of-the-art LEED Platinum-certified building.

Since steel structures went up in September 2012, lots of progress has been made. Read about the Aztec Student Union year in review.

Life After SDSU: Career University 2013 workshopserieslifeaftersdsuthumb.jpg

Throughout the month of June, on Tuesday and Thursday of each week, SDSU Career Services is offering a series of "Life After SDSU" workshops to SDSU alumni. Workshop topics include job searching via social media, networking, salary negotiation, graduate school options, and more.

All workshops will be located in Career Services.

International Coffee Hour The Daily Aztec logo

Dates and Deadlines

Tuesday, 4/8 – Friday, 5/17: Theses may be submitted to Montezuma Publishing on an at-risk basis. However, May 2013 graduation is contingent upon completion of final processing by 12 noon, May 17. Students missing this deadline will be required to reapply for graduation for the term in which they expect to graduate.

Monday, 5/6: Summer 2013 registration begins.

Wednesday, 5/8: Last day of classes before final examinations.

Wednesday, 5/8: Last day for reporting results on comprehensive examinations to the Division of Graduate Affairs by department or college.

Thursday, 5/9: Midnight Study Break!

Thursday, 5/9 – Thursday, 5/16: Final examinations.

Thursday, 5/16: Commencement, Imperial Valley Campus.

Friday, 5/17: Thesis review process, including publishing, must be completed by 12 noon on this date at Montezuma Publishing.

Friday, 5/17 – Sunday, 5/19: Commencement, main campus.

Tuesday, 5/21: Last day of spring semester.

Tuesday, 5/21: Last day to apply for a leave of absence for spring semester 2013.

Tuesday, 5/21: Final day to submit thesis to Montezuma Publishing without having to enroll in Thesis 799B the following semester. (Noon deadline.)

Tuesday, 5/21: Last day to pay tuition and fees for S1 and T1 without penalty.

Wednesday, 5/22:  First day of summer term. First day of S1 and T1 classes.

Monday 5/27: Holiday—Memorial Day. Faculty/staff holiday. Campus closed.

Friday, 5/31: S1 schedule adjustment deadline. Last day to add/drop.
