27th Annual "Quest for the Best" Applications Available

Photo: Some of the Quest for the Best winners of 2012SDSU's “Quest for the Best”  award annually recognizes up to 10 outstanding student leaders.

Nominations are open to students who have completed at least 1 year at SDSU and at least 75 units of coursework, who demonstrate academic excellence and student involvement, and who participate in community service.

Student Research Symposium

Logo: Student Research SymposiumSDSU's annual Student Research Symposium is a 2-day event that recognizes the outstanding scholarly achievements of SDSU students. All SDSU students are encouraged to submit submit an application to present either preliminary or completed results from their original research. Registration is open, and the deadline is midnight, February 1, 2013. [more]

January-February 2013

Dates and Deadlines

Thursday, 1/03: Spring 2013 registration begins.

Tuesday 1/15: Last day of registration before classes begin.

Wednesday 1/16: First day of spring semester. Last day to officially withdraw for the spring 2013 semester and receive a full refund. Last day for nonresident (foreign and out-of-state) students to pay deferred tuition and not incur service charges.

Thursday, 1/17: First day of classes. 

Thursday, 1/17 to Friday 1/18: Faculty/staff advising.  

Thursday, 1/17 to Monday 2/4: Fee payments accepted for late registration. Last opportunity to pay late basic tuition and fees is 3:30 p.m. on February 4.  

Monday 1/21: Holiday—Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Faculty/staff holiday. Campus closed.

Thursday, 1/31: Last day to drop classes. No drops allowed after 11:59 p.m. on this date.

Friday 2/01: Applications accepted for bachelor’s degree or advanced degree for December 2013 graduation.

Monday, 2/04: Last day to officially withdraw from the university without penalty fee for spring semester 2013. Last day to add classes or change grading basis (no schedule adjustments allowed after 11:59 p.m. on this date). Last day for payment of fees for late registration (3:30 p.m. deadline). Last day to file application for bachelor’s degree or advanced degree for May and August 2013 graduation.  Last day to file petition for concurrent master’s degree credit for spring semester 2013.

Thursday 2/14: Census.
