San Diego State University is often defined by its spirit of entrepreneurship. SDSU innovators and aspiring entrepreneurs are encouraged and mentored to follow their passions and make something out of them.
SDSU was recently ranked No. 18 on FORBES' list of "America's Most Entrepreneurial Universities."
The Zahn Innovation Center helps students, faculty and staff work in teams in a collaborative environment to launch companies ranging from 3D printing to bio fuels.
The Lavin Entrepreneurship Center, along with the management department in the College of Business, are the anchors of SDSU’s entrepreneurship curriculum — featuring programs, workshops, internships, resources and events that help students transform their classroom learning into practice.
“The reason behind the Zahn Center itself is to provide a place where you can go with tables and chairs and lockers and assembly equipment and test equipment; where you can develop your own products. And hopefully, the measure of success of an incubator of this sort will be how many companies are ultimately started here.”
