About Cultural Graduation Events

Each year, several graduation celebrations are hosted by various departments, clubs, organizations and affinity groups. Although they are not designed to replace the traditional graduation ceremonies hosted by San Diego State University, these events bring together friends, family and community while celebrating the rich diversity of our campus.

39th Black Baccalaureate Celebration

Date: Thursday, May 10, 2018 Time: 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. Location: at Lincoln High School, 4777 Imperial Ave, San Diego, CA 92113 This Baccalaureate Ceremony is only for seniors and graduate students who are graduating. Register Online

American Indian Graduation Celebration

Friday, May 4, 2018. The ceremony will be held at Mission Trails Park Visitor Center Amphitheater 1 Father Junipero Serra Trail, San Diego, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. If you are graduating and would like to be included (or would like to attend as a guest), please email Kate Regan at, or call 619-594-6991.

Notes: Ceremony open to departmental majors and minor, any American Indian student on campus, and students in hospitality and tourism management who may be interested in tribal government gaming.
