Clear Credential and Induction Programs
Fully Online

Most of the program courses are asynchronous, which means you complete them online during your own schedule with weekly deadlines posted in the syllabi. However, LDT 570 is a synchronous course, which means you need to be at your Internet connected computer during scheduled class sessions.

About the Clear-Induction Program

The SDSU Clear-Induction Program offers two routes for clearing your credential--a Clear Credential Program and an Induction Program. Teachers in regular classrooms who qualify may complete the Clear Credential Program in two part-time semesters (among the requirements for admission is a CL-855 form signed by your human resources department). Teachers in alternative positions, such as substitutes or preschool teachers, may complete the Induction Program in three part-time semesters.

During the admissions process, SDSU will determine the program that fits your needs based on your current employment and guidelines set by the CCTC. If your employment changes during your program of study, we will gladly adjust your requirements to meet your changing needs.

IMPORTANT: Upon admission, you will receive a Program Sequence outlining the specific courses you will need to take. You must sign and return your Program Sequence and an Intent to Enroll in order to receive registration information.

We are currently accepting applications for Fall 2017-Spring 2019 SDSU Induction.

We are no longer able to accept substitute teachers into our program due to changes in the standards set by the California Department of Education. We are sorry for having to make this change.

    Pre-Admission Disclosure for Credentialing Programs

Admission into programs leading to credentialing does not guarantee that students will obtain a credential. Credentialing requirements are set by agencies that are not controlled by or affiliated with the CSU and requirements can change at any time. For example, credentialing requirements can include evidence of the right to work in the United States (e.g., social security number or tax payer identification number) or successfully passing a criminal background check. Students are responsible for determining whether they can meet credentialing requirements. The CSU will not refund tuition, fees, or any associated costs to students who determine subsequent to admission that they cannot meet credentialing requirements. Information concerning credentialing requirements are available from the SDSU College of Education, Office of Student Services in EBA 259.
