Mayumi Douglass, M.S., LMFT.

Lecturer-online, Fieldwork Supervisor (Spanish, English)

Mayumi is originally from Cuernavaca, Mexico, where she completed her undergraduate work, as well as specialized training in humanistic psychotherapy. She is a licensed psychologist in Mexico by the Autonomous University of Morelos State. She moved to San Diego in 2004 where she completed her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at San Diego State University. With a clinical background in counseling since 1997, she received her license in CA as a Marriage and Family Therapist in 2009. She has worked in mental health clinics, non-profit organizations and private practice providing therapy services and clinical supervision.

Research & Teaching Interests:

Development of counseling teams with the purpose of reducing barriers to access mental health services for under-served communities; Clinical training; and  Law and ethics.

Professional Activities:

Lecturer at the SDSU M.A. in Education with a concentration in counseling program, Clinical supervisor with Grossmont Union High School District, AAMFT Supervisor mentor.

Personal Interests:

Clinical training, Trauma-Informed Care, Post-modern therapy.
