Director: Rachel Haine-Schlagel, PhD


picrhs2Dr. Haine-Schlagel received her PhD in clinical psychology from Arizona State University and completed post-doctoral training in child mental health services research at the Child & Adolescent Services Research Center (CASRC) through the University of California, San Diego and Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego.   She is currently an investigator at CASRC, as well as a licensed psychologist and certified trainer for an evidence-based engagement intervention for child and family mental health services. Prior to joining the CFD faculty, Dr. Haine-Schlagel was an Assistant Research Professor in the Department of Psychology at San Diego State University. Lab Manager: Toni Araya (2017-Present)

I am a first year graduate student at San Diego State University in the Masters in Child and Family Development program. I obtained a B.A. in Psychology and a B.A. in Design from the University of San Francisco. I have experience working with children in a variety of roles including tutoring, preschool teacher’s aid, youth ministry leader, behavior interventionist and early interventionist.





Graduate Lab Assistant: Pui Cheng (2015-Present)



I am a graduate student in the Child and Family Development program at San Diego State University. I have a B.A degree in Psychology from the Stony Brook University, New York. During my undergraduate years, I have experience working as research assistant in different Psychology labs. Undergraduate Lab Intern: Susanne Tolciu (2016-Present)

I am currently an undergraduate student at San Diego State Univeristy pursuing a bachelor's degree in psychology. Ultimately, I would like to become a clinical child psychologist, specializing in working with children with mental health   disorders. I am also extremely interested in Neuropsychology and research in psychology, particulary research investigating evidence based practices in the treatment of autism spectrum disorder in children.
