Apply to the EdD Program 

The SDSU Educational Leadership program is designed to admit candidates who meet the academic requirements for rigorous doctoral study and who possess personal qualities and professional experiences that suggest a strong potential for success both as doctoral students and as educational leaders.  

Applicants must possess:

  • An earned baccalaureate and master's degree or equivalent from a regionally accredited institution of higher education with a cumulative GPA in upper division and graduate study of 3.0 or above

  • Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores that are no older than five years

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in Community Colleges or a related setting

  • Demonstrated academic excellence, problem-solving ability, and an interest in critically assessing and bringing about improvements within current educational policies and practices 

Applications take place in two cycles:

Cycle 1 - Priority Review - Due by December 15  

Cycle 2 - Normal Review - Due by March 1

 

Applicants for cycle 1 are considered first, applications for cycle 2 are considered based on remaining space. Additional information may be requested from applicants based on the discretion of the selection committee.

Apply to the Certificate programs 

The Executive Certificate programs in Community College Leadership is designed for working professionals who seek further development of their skills and abilities. 

Applicants must possess:

  • An earned baccalaureate from a regionally accredited institution of higher education; a master's degree is strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in Community Colleges or a related setting

Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis:

Community College Instructional Leadership - Enrolling now for Fall (October) 2015 

Community College Finance - Enrolling now for Spring (March) 2016  

Admission for the executive certificate programs is competitive.
