Parking and Transportation
Classes will be in session during His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s visit to SDSU; therefore, parking on campus will be extremely limited. Only ADA parking will be available in Parking Structure 4 for those with a valid DMV placard or plate. Additionally, parking in surrounding neighborhoods is prohibited unless you have a valid permit.
Due to the expected traffic delays, SDSU is strongly encouraging the use of the MTS trolley and bus system. Please utilize the free parking at trolley stations throughout San Diego County.
Trains will depart every 7-8 minutes between Old Town and SDSU (which includes all Mission Valley stations) from 7:30 a.m. to 8:50 a.m. An MTS Regional Day Pass is $5 for unlimited rides all day. View the trolley map and schedules.
Qualcomm Stadium Park and Ride
Attendees may also park at Qualcomm Stadium for free. Only the main Qualcomm entrance off Friars Road will be open.
Free shuttles to campus will be avaialable starting at 7 a.m. on a first-come, first-served basis.
If shuttles are at capacity, attendees can purchase a trolley ticket to SDSU. The trolley service frequency between Qualcomm Stadium and SDSU will be enhanced.
Following the event, there will be a limited number of shuttles leaving SDSU to Qualcomm Stadium, so it may be faster to take the trolley back to Qualcomm even if you arrived via shuttle. Post-event trolley frequency will be every five minutes back to Qualcomm.
